Women Here & Hereafter

Every woman carries a beauty within, reflected in her presence and appearance. This series was inspired by ordinary women around me — of different ages and backgrounds. I took plaster casts of their warm bodies and covered the lifeless figures with Termeh, a traditional fabric used in my homeland to shroud the deceased. I began this series in 2009 and later removed the Termeh, presenting only bare, lifeless bodies enclosed within black iron frames — like prisoners with invisible jailers. This series is an unfinished journey that continues to this day.
